Refund and Returns Policy
How to return books bought from Birr Series Publications, who pays return postage, and how long refunds take.
Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the day you receive your order to change your mind, without giving a reason.
We go further than that. You have 30 days from the day your order arrives to request a return.
Condition of returned books
Books must come back in resaleable condition: unused, unmarked and in their original packaging. We cannot accept a book that has been written in, has a broken spine, or has been damaged in the post because it was returned without adequate packaging.
How to start a return
Email us at info@birrseriespublications.com with your order number and how many copies you wish to return. You can also message us on WhatsApp at +44 7879 310938.
Please do not send anything back before contacting us. We will confirm the return address and give you a reference to include with the parcel.
Who pays for return postage
- You pay the return postage if you have simply changed your mind.
- We pay if the book is faulty, damaged on arrival, or we sent you the wrong item. In that case we will cover the postage or arrange collection.
We recommend using a tracked service. Until the parcel reaches us it remains your responsibility, and we cannot refund an item that does not arrive.
Refunds
Once your return arrives and we have checked its condition, we will email you to confirm. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the books.
We refund the price of the books in full. Where you paid a delivery charge, we refund our standard delivery cost; if you chose a faster service, the extra amount is not refunded. Delivery within the United Kingdom is free on every order, so in most cases there is no delivery charge involved.
Faulty or damaged books
If a book arrives damaged, misprinted or with pages missing, contact us within 30 days and send a photograph of the fault. We will replace it or refund it, whichever you prefer, and you will not be out of pocket for postage.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Bundles and bulk orders
Multi-copy bundles are returnable as a complete bundle. Because the bundle price reflects a quantity discount, we cannot refund individual copies out of a bundle while leaving the discounted price in place on the rest.
Madrasahs, maktabs and Islamic institutes ordering through wholesale registration: please contact us before returning a bulk order so we can arrange collection and agree the refund with you directly.
Orders that have not shipped yet
If you contact us before your order leaves us, we will cancel it and refund you in full, with nothing to return.
